If you’re ever in a tight spot, you can always rely on Sweden. Yes, the favourite of Eurovisions worldwide has come to our aid again.
Some out there will think that Sweden can do no wrong. They could have someone reciting the phone book and they’d have it as their favourite. But I’ll stop ranting and move onto today’s birthday girl, Monica Kristina Ingeborg Törnell. She did her stuff with a certain Lasse Holm. He was the Swedish Mr Eurovision in the 1980s. Anyway, having had enough of getting others to sing his songs, he did it himself with Monica. There’s a lot going on the three minutes on stage. So much so that they finished fifth.
Monica is 68 today.
