It appears that Julia has been placed slightly lower in the chamber of magma and the delegation has also changed the angle of the microphone so it makes her look slightly less … ya know.
Vocally, however, it’s all sorts of wrong. They still know that Julia struggles with the vocals and, as such, the microphones are faded in and out to allow the female backing singer to take the harder notes – but even with that, it sounds off key and shrill.
The dancers and backing singers and even the mountain Yulia is sitting on (which is a projection screen) are more in shot than Yulia, and the more you look at it, the more you end up believing that this whole performance is an exercise in going through the motions.
If it were on song alone, this is one of the weaker ones in this semi-final and doesn’t deserve to qualify. I suspect it might though.
