Bow down at the altar of Georgia

Iriao

There are people around me in the press centre who think that they have just seen the second coming. Words like: “Can you get a top four bet on this?”. I nearly spat out my free coffee.

But this is exactly what it is. Think of it as Il Volo from the Caucuses, and you’ll know what you are going to get. They are styled beautifully and after the last few batshit songs, it’s the comedown that this semi final needs. So, despite me still thinking that this song is more like a cantata than a song for the Eurovision, that is not a bad thing.

It’s class. It builds really well and the staging is very understated with dry ice and the boys singing in a semi circle. There is a pyro curtain on the last run-through, which is not too overpowering and this could well qualify in about 6th-7th place.
