Cornelia Jakobs will perform ‘Hold me closer’ in the the second semi-final of the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, to be held on 12 May.
After a 6-week run of live shows, Sweden’s Melodifestivalen featured a dozen songs and one of the most complex voting systems known to man or horse.
Scoring was done via both a public vote and an international jury vote. This year, the international juries were from Spain, Israel, Ireland, the Netherlands, Italy, Finland, Australia and the Czech Republic. Both the public vote and the international jury vote accounted for 50% of the total score.
The public voting results were determined using the age group system. Each age group’s vote carried a score of 12, 10, 8–1.
