La Zarra to represent France in Liverpool

As you may, or may not, know by now, France 2 held a press conference on the 12th January to reveal that La Zarra will fly the tricolour in Liverpool.

She is, of course, not French at all but Quebecois – apparently getting singers from over there is still “a thing” for broadcasters, but at her press conference she wasted no time in saying all of the right things in the right order.

“I am very proud to have the chance to perform my song in front of millions of viewers around the world. I am a great admirer of the most beautiful French voices such as Edith Piaf, Barbara, Dalida, but also Céline Dion, and I am so excited to make all Europeans discover my song which I hope will become theirs. I am very honoured to represent France at Eurovision, the most iconic song contest in the world.”

Born Fatima Zahra Hafdi, She is relatively new to the whole music scene winning NRJ’s Francophone “Revalation of the year” award in 2021.   Have a listen to one of her biggest hits!

The actual song that will be in Liverpool will be released and announced later, as is the usual form.
