One of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 hosts Laura Pausini has announced she tested positive for COVID-19 directly after the 2022 grand final.
She was missing from screens during most of the voting sequence, and initially announced she was suffering from blood pressure problems brought on by the pressure of recent weeks. Today she confirmed details of her test.
“I haven’t felt well since Saturday,” she said in an online post. “I thought it was caused by build-up fatigue. Unfortunately this was not the case! I just found out I am Covid positive and for this reason I am isolated and cannot travel.”
She went on to apologise for having to cancel planned festival appearances over this coming weekend.
In true Pausini style, she signed off on Twitter:
