North Macedonia in a bid to capitalise on their Top 10 finish at last year’s Eurovision has gone back to the well of established performers by announcing that Vasil Garvanliev will represent them in Rotterdam.
In a statement Vasil says :
I am beyond honoured to present my country at the Song Contest in Rotterdam and I can hardly wait to put all my experience and knowledge into creating a magical journey that will touch people’s heart across Europe.
So that’s nice but who is he? Well, he is a singer known in Macedonia for opera, but has had a taste of rapping on a 2016 album for Chance the Rapper. He’s also had a taste of Eurovision, as he was a backing singer for Tamara last year. Here is a flavour of his current music.
