Polish broadcaster TVP has announced the ten artists and performers for their national song contest to take place on 19th February.
Song | Performer(s) |
Dokad? | Ania Byrcyn |
Paranoia | Daria |
All I need | Emila Debska (Mila) |
Czysta woda | Karolina Lizer |
Move | Karolina Stanislawczyk & Chika Toro |
Lovesick | Kuba Szmajkowski |
Why does it hurt | Lidia Kopania |
River | Krystian Ochman |
Drogowskazy | Julia & Wiktoria Szlachta |
Glosniej niz decybele | Unmute |
The most obvious name of note is that of their 2009 entrant Lidia Kopania. This list also features, to my knowledge, the first song sung entirely in sign language by Unmute (War is not over does *not* count, for the record) and it’s a proper gnarly song, as you can see from this (top tip, turn the YouTube subtitles on, if you have to)
The questions are, and they are the ones that no other site will be man enough to ask, will people classify this as a song for the song contest? What with it having no vocal track and all, will certain sections of society see it as a nod towards tokenism? Or will people just see it as another inclusive song in the contest?
Who knows, but it certainly meant I could pad this article out for another 100 words!
