The TikTok wildcard in the German Eurovision national final – Unser Lied für Liverpool – has been won by Ikke Hüftgold. He will join the line up as the ninth and final act with his song “Lied mit gutem Text”. The other eight participating acts were announced on 27 January 2023.
The competition will take place on 3 March 2023 at the MMC Studios in Cologne, and will be hosted by Barbara Schöneberger. The show will be broadcast on Das Erste as well as online via the broadcaster’s Eurovision Song Contest website eurovision.de and the ARD-Mediathek platform.

Hüftgold (real name Matthias Distel) is described as a German party pop singer, music producer, songwrite , radio play author and entrepreneur. His debut single ‘Saufen ist Scheiße, doch wir machen’s trotzdem’ (Drinking sucks, but we do it anyway), he became a cult figure with his trademark black wig, tracksuit and raised middle finger when entering the stage. A gesture returned by his loyal (and often drunk) audience. His breakthrough came in 2014 with ‘Dicke Titten, Kartoffelsalat’ (Big Tits, Potato Salad).
